Print Work

Although I have no formal training or experience doing print and graphic design work, I have self-taught experience with both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, up to and including Creative Suite 2. I also took introductory courses in both of these applications through the New Media department at IUPUI, and have included some of my work from these courses below. All of these images use photographs I took, rather than using stock photography. Click the thumbnails to view the image.

This is an image of Alctraz from 2006. The goal of the photo manipulation was to emphasize the cold, stark, unfeeling nature of the prison. This was achieved by desaturating the building and increasing the contrast levels, as well as desaturating the edges of the sky.

I created this image from a collection of photos I took on 17 Mile Drive in Monterey, California. The paperclips and black borders around the negatives were created from scratch.

This mock magazine page was created to showcase the "stock photo" effect applied to the container of sugar packets. The layout was created in Photoshop.

One of the final exam assignments in my Photoshop course dealt with creating a marketing postcard for the IU School of Informatics. This is the result of my efforts.
